アメリカ大統領選挙で、トランプ氏が第47代大統領に決まった。
NHKなどの報道を見ていると、メディア側がずいぶんと慌てふためいているように見えるのが笑える。
そんなに民主党のハリス氏に、勝って欲しかったのだろうか。
民主的な選挙でアメリカ国民が選んだのだから、日本人があれこれ言っても意味がない。 しかし、国際情勢や経済には一定の影響を与えるだろうから、対策は講じなければならない。トランプの基本的な考え方は、アメリカは他国を守るためにお金を使いたくないということだ。しかし、これがノーマルな発想だと思う。行き過ぎたグローバル化を少し是正しようという程度で、世界での覇権を捨てるわけではない。ウクライナ支援も引き続き期待していいと思う。
日本は戦後、アメリカの笠の下でぬくぬくと経済発展をしてきたが、これから日本が本当の意味で自立し独立する良いチャンスといえる。
安倍氏のおかげで、日本はここ10年ほどで急速に軍備を充実させてきたが、ほんの数十年前までは十分といえるほどの軍事力ではなかった。
これからは、中国やロシアからの圧力に自力で対抗できるだけの力を持つ必要がある。力とは軍事力だけでなく、経済力も必要だ。 もちろん、その一方で国民の命を守ることも重要であり、福祉や医療の質の維持との両立が求められる。
国力を高めるために基本となるのが科学技術だ。科学技術の研究開発に、これまで以上に予算をさくべきだろう。
はたして、石破氏にそれができるだろうか。
